Dr. Hyungchul Han, Assistant Professor of Animal Science at Colorado State University, was born and raised in Seoul, Korea, where he received his undergraduate education. He received his Master’s degree in Animal Nutrition in Seoul, while teaching laboratory techniques and working as a research assistant in the University’s Animal Nutrition Laboratory. He earned his Ph.D. in nutrition at Oklahoma State University.
After completing his Ph.D., Dr. Han worked on a year-long postdoctoral research project at Oklahoma State University related to synthetic antioxidant and vitamin D metabolism to improve meat quality in steers. As a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Nevada, Reno he gained experience in continuous culture system. He furthered his experience by studying the effects of feeding various dietary fiber sources to change the fermentation characteristics in the lower gut of dogs.
At the University of Wyoming, Dr. Han has been trained in physiology, and molecular biology with a strong emphasis in fetal development. His current research interest is maternal nutrition and fetal/neonatal gene expression.
