Welcome aboard!

Now that you have been admitted to Colorado State University here are some steps you will need to following:

• Take a look at our Check Sheets. This will explain the courses required for your degree.

• All registration is done at http://ramweb.colostate.edu. There are several steps you will need to follow before registering for courses. You will need an eID (electronic identification).

To start that process you will need your PID (personal identification number – usually your Social Security Number or an assigned one) and your PAC (personal access code) number. The PAC number was sent to you by the Admissions Office in your Admissions packet. You will need to PID and PAC to do your eID. This site will tell you when you can register.

• Courses available for registration will appear under the University Class Schedule. You will need the 6 digit section ID number to register for your courses. If a course has a lecture, lab, and/or recitation you will need all those numbers to register for the course. There are some courses that will require extra paper work. Under the University Class Schedule it will say “see department”. Contact us for further details on these courses.

• The University Official notification to all students is by email. Be sure that your email is correct on the above site and that you read your emails.

• Our office receives your SMART form (has your advising code on it) and a GUIDE. The GUIDE is very similar to your Check Sheet. However, it gives more information such as grades, transfer credit, and University requirements. The SMART form comes to our office every semester with a different advising code on it. The GUIDE comes after grades are posted for each term that you enrolled.

• It would be wise to contact our office for preliminary advising before registering for courses. Course registration is on a first come first serve basis. The more credits that you have the sooner you can enroll. New students are usually last to enroll. So the sooner you can enroll in your courses the better.

• After you are enrolled our office will start an Official Folder on you. An adviser will be assigned to you at that time. You should make an appointment with your adviser and go over your Check Sheet. You will sign this form along with your adviser and have this form placed in your official folder. This is extremely important.

This will at least get you started. If you should have any questions, please ask. Good luck, Welcome Aboard, and GO RAMS!
