The MRHC's next meeting is Wednesday, Nov 18th. We have a guest speaker coming to speak to the club about search and rescue and safety up in the mountains. We hope you can join us! We will also be providing pizza, so be sure to come hungry!

General Information/FAQ's

Do I need a horse?

  • You do not need a horse to be a part of Mountain Riders Horse Club.  All that we ask is that you have an interest in horses, riding, and riding outside of the arena.

How often can I ride if I don't have a horse?

  • Every semester (weather permitting), we plan one large ride that can be anywhere from a 1/2 day to a full day.  We are able to borrow horses from ranches and outfitters for a very reasonable amount.

When does MRHC meet?

  • We meet every other Wednesday, starting the second Wednesday of classes at 7:00pm in AnSci 114.

What else do you do besides the big ride?
  • Every Halloween we go trick-or-treating for canned foods in a Laporte neighborhood. This last year we collected almost 300 pounds of food on a pack horse that we donated to the Rocky Mountain Food Bank.  The club also holds BBQ's, mini-clinics, a packing demonstration, and other fun things.

If you have any other questions, please let us know!
