Alumni Testimonials
"Hi everybody! Hard to believe a meat head is running a sow farm (we actually supply parity 1 sows to 6 farms downstream from us). I am getting married August 4th in Denver if anyone would love to join the celebration."
- Emily McClure, 1999 BS Animal Sciences, 2002 MS Meat Science
"I cannot recall when I have ever received such a glowing report of the activities in the ANSCI as you sent me by Email. I graduated with a degree in Animal Science in 1949. With a MA in Plant Taxonomy I was offered a teaching position at CSU. I retired in 2002 upon the completion of our book, 'A GUIDE TO PLANT POISONING OF ANIMALS IN NORTH AMERICA". Dr. Anthony Knight of the College of Veterinary Medicine and I collaborated on this book for several years, publishing in 2001. I really appreciate your report. My wife, Verda, and I have retired to a home on the edge of the desert, near Tucson. At ages of 82 and 80 we enjoy hearing about activities in CSU and Fort Collins."
- Richard G. Walter
"After graduation in Dec.'93, I went back to a family dairy operation. In 1995, my dad decided to sell the business and in Oct.'95 I started working with the Puerto Rico Department of Agriculture as a State Director of the Wage Subsidy Program. Later, in 2000, I worked with the Puerto Rico State Senate as Executive Director of the Senate Agriculture Commission. In 2001 I got hired by USDA as a Plant Protection and Quarantine Officer for Miami Int'l Airport. Then, in 2003, we were merged with the newly created Department of Homeland Security and joined the workforce of US Customs. My main duties are preventing the introduction of pests and prohibited agricultural products, besides the others associated with the position."
- Eduardo Berrios, 1993 BS Animal Sciences
"Sorry that I have been a little MIA for the past week but I was working for an outfitter in southern
Colorado near Creede for first rifle season. I had so much fun I decided to stay for second season :)
Hear are some pictures of the past few days. Enjoy!"
