"One of the biggest advantages of being an animal science student here at Colorado State is the people you get to work with. The students are an outstanding group of people and the faculty is second to none. The professors take the time to know you and will bend over backwards to help however they can."
Stacy Loutzenhiser

The unique mission of the land grant university is to contribute to democracy by making a university education widely accessible. Prior to the creation of land grant universities, higher education tended to be the privilage of the elite. I mention this only to remind you that when you accept the opportunity to study at Colorado State, you become part of one of the greatest experiments in history - the creation of an institution to help solve the problems facing society. As part of that experience, you will be given access to cutting edge technologies, ideas, and scientific advances. At the same time, you will be given the opportunity to think about how we best apply these breakthroughs while sustaining the very best of our traditional values - good stewardship, the creation of strong communities, and service to others.
"You will be challenged, you will develop lifelong friendships, and you will grow both personally and professionally. The old adage that "what ye sow so shall ye reap" holds true - if you give yourself to the Colorado State experience - I promise that you will harvest abundantly."
- Tom Field, Professor
