Our Purpose:
The purpose of the organization shall be to assist the Colorado CattleWomen and the Colorado Cattlemen Associations in their efforts to promote the welfare and growth of the cattle industry.
About CCW:
Colorado State University Collegiate CattleWomen is a group focused on promoting and educating the public of all ages about the Beef Industry. We work hand in hand with Cattlewomen across the state of Colorado.
Activities:
- BEEF Booth at NWSS: Collegiate CattleWomen assist the Colorado Beef Council at their Booth at the National Western Stock Show. We pass out “Beef Bags” filled with free recipes and stickers to the public, informing them about the nutritional values of beef.
- Colorado Beef Council and CattleWomen.
- NCBA Convention: Every year some members attend the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s Cattle Industry Annual Convention. In 2009, it was held in Phoenix, Arizona. Members listen to guest speakers and attend numerous seminars about current issues facing the beef industry. The trade show has many great companies that we are able to meet and network with.
- Skyline Stampede: We sell concessions at the CSU collegiate rodeo.
- Ag on the Plaza:
- Calf-To-Brisket Dinner: Annual Seminar and dinner to educate about the beef industry. This event includes industry speakers, silent auction, and dinner.
- Ag Adventure: Educates local 3rd graders about agriculture. CattleWomen’s booth educates about cattle production.
These events are the highlights of our year, but we participate in various other fun activities and community service projects throughout the year.
Where and When:
Our meetings are held the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM in the Animal Sciences Building. We encourage and would love to have new attendees, so tell your friends!
