MRHC September 12th Meeting Minutes Print E-mail
MRHC Minutes 9/12/07

9/23/07 Ride, Lory State Park
We're planning on a ride at Lory on Sunday, September 23.  Since we don't have leasing horses yet, we're pretty much limiting it to people who have horses or access directly to a horse.  If you were not at the meeting and would like to go, please email us ASAP.

Homecoming Parade   Oct. 6
This year MRHC is going to participate in the Homecoming Parade.  We'll have a few riding horses and a pack horses in the parade.  If you have a parade-safe horse and are not signed up, please email us ASAP.  If you don't have a horse but would still like to join, us, please let us know, walking is just as much fun.  We'll have more info at the next meeting.

Leasing
For those interested in leasing, you need to get a hold of Kate.  She has a couple of contacts right now with horses to lease, and is in the process of contacting someone to lease more.  Her email and phone number are below.

October Ride with Chuck (big group ride)
Based on the meeting, it looks like the ride is going to be the weekend of the 20th and 21st in October, and will probably be on Sunday. Tenatively, Chuck suggested that the ride will start about 9:30am and hopefully finishes at 4:30pm (ideally). More info to come. For those who don't have a horse, Chuck's neighbor has some dude horses who we can use for $40 for the day each including tack, and they'll already be up in Livermore. We'll get numbers of people who are going at the next meeting, so keep that in mind if you don't have your own horse.

Dues
This year, club dues are $35/year and $25/semester.  If you are joining the club and haven't paid dues yet, please bring money to the next meeting, cash or check is fine (made out to MRHC).

Riding Evaluations
Every year we do a fun get-together/riding eval day to see where all the club members are in riding and especially for those who want to lease.  We are thinking the Sunday after the parade, October 7 is probably the best day.  Let us know what works for you or not.  We will be doing them at one of the club member's place. Info to come at the next meeting.

Shirts and Sweatshirts
MRHC has sweatshirts and shirts.  We actually found the rest of our shirts from before (they were in the previous president's basement) and have some left.  They will be given to people who have paid their dues until we're out.  We're also looking for new ideas for the new shirts.  There are also sweatshirts for sale for $35 each.  They are really cool and really warm. Both will be there at the next meeting.

Chuck's Fundraiser Idea
Chuck, the club advisor had a really cool idea for a club fundraiser.  He's the head of the board for the Livermore Community Hall, and offered up the idea of the club putting on a dance in the beginning of November. People at the meeting basically all thought it was a neat idea and thought we should do it, so Chuck will let us know what weekend (Sat. night) the dance will be We'll need to advertise, and will need lots of help to do that. Once we get more info it'll be sent out. Chuck knows a band that he'll talk to (who everyone up in Livermore really likes) who hopefully can do it, it'll be country music mainly. Feel free to email Steph ( This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it ) if you have any questions, thoughts, or suggestions.
