Margo’s employment at Colorado State University spans 18 years. She started in the College of Agricultural Sciences, transferred to the Alumni Center and then, in April 1994, moved to the Department of Animal Sciences. She oversees research budgets, progress of projects and document preparation as well as approving expenditures for projects presently in progress. She serves as liaison between the Meat Science Program and other departments on campus, Office of Sponsored Programs, Regulatory Compliance Office and international, national and state sponsors. As Administrative Assistant III, Margo organizes speaking engagements from inception to completion for Dr. Gary C. Smith, University Distinguished Professor and Holder of the Ken and Myra Monfort Chair in Meat Science as well as processing travel documents for faculty, graduate students, research associates, the meats judging team and visiting international professors. She tracks research and service projects, utilizes the PASS system and electronic proposal forms from Sponsored Programs, Regulatory Compliance and processes USDA-CREES grant proposals. She builds rapport and generates enthusiasm with clientele and research sponsors, within the Department of Animal Sciences and with other university departments, for conducting business with personnel in the Meat Science Program.
