Spring Branding Banquet
  • April 18th
  • Awards Banquet for department of Animal Sciences (Animal and Equine Sciences)
  • Please go online and nominate a top student in each grade in each major.
  • Also nominate a faculty member
Budweiser Brewery Tour & Clydesdales
  • Saturday March 8th
  • Tours run 10am – 4pm
  • We’ll meet at 1pm in the Animal Science parking lot and carpool from there.
  • Tours are complimentary
Shirts
  • Nicole can purchase them through her uncle or the local company that her sorority uses.
  • We decided on a design for the new shirts!
  • We’re going to get long sleeved tees
    • Dark “Rams” Green with white lettering
    • “CSU Mountain Riders” down the right sleeve
    • Horse and rider in a horseshoe with MRHC on chest (white)
    • Back: picture that Steph took on the fall pack trip encircled by “Mountain Riders Horse Club Established 2002” (similar to the sweatshirts, but with a different picture).
  • We’re going to order everyone currently in the club whichever size they need, and order extras for future semesters.  (We’ll take orders in the near future)
Back Country Horsemen of America
  • Kate spoke to Chuck and two representatives will be coming to speak to us on March 26th, the week after spring break.

Spring Break
  • Rocky Mountain Horse Expo
  • March 14th – 16th
  • Denver – National Western Complex

  • Or at the gate!
  • Those of you planning on going, talk amongst each other and coordinate driving, etc.
  • Hotel Room
    • Will get Friends/Family rate through Nicole’s dad!
Pack Trip!
  • March 21 – 22 (Friday and Saturday)
  • Location: TBD (depending on weather and how many people go)
  • Mount Margaret
  • Jack’s Gulch
  • Young’s Gulch
  • Seamen Reservoir
Stock
  • Bring your own horse
  • Jeremy has a couple extra horses
  • Kim should be able to borrow a horse or two from her barn
  • We should be able to borrow Chuck’s mules/horses
Transportation:
  • Jeremy’s Trailer (~8 head)
  • We need a truck!
  • Possibly borrow school’s truck and/or trailer
Equipment:
  • Jeremy and Kim have tents
  • We may have a club tent
  • Need your own sleeping bags (club may have a few to borrow)
  • Kim has a camp stove
Cost:
  • Food
  • Fuel
  • Seaman’s Reservoir has a parking fee
Let us know ASAP if you can go (and whether or not you have a horse to take)

Ride in April
  • Kate spoke to Chuck and he is interested in doing a long ride similar to the one we had in November.
  • We’re still working on a date, but it will be on a weekend in early to mid April.
  • Horses should be available to rent from Chuck’s neighbor for a low fee.
  • Kim may be able to borrow a horse or two from her stable owner for cheap as well.
